General Meeting to be held on 9 October, 2026

Members of the Finnish Union of University Professors are welcome to attend the General Meeting of the Finnish Union of University Professors, which is organised every second year and is open to all members.

Date and time: Friday, 9 October 2026, at 1 p.m.
Place: Hotel Presidentti, Meeting Room Kaleva, Eteläinen Rautatiekatu 4, Helsinki

Lunch will be served from 12 noon before the meeting. In the beginning of the meeting, Founding Academic Fellow Henry Tirri (Aalto University) will give a talk (in Finnish) under the title Nopeampaa tutkimusta, heikompaa näyttöä? (Faster research, weaker evidence?).

Please note that the language of the meeting will be Finnish. English live captioning by Teams will be shown during presentations.

The General Meeting will elect the Union’s Council for the years 2027–2028. According to the Union bylaws, the Union’s General Meeting shall deliberate on the annual reports drafted by the Board of Directors. The annual reports for the years 2024 and 2025

At the Union’s General Meeting, each regular member (=personal member) is entitled to vote.
