Meeting of the Union Board on 11 September 2026

The Board of the Finnish Union of University Professors met on 11 September 2026 and received, among other things, the monitoring report on the strategic priorities.

At its meeting, the Board

• decided to sell some of its shares in accordance with the union’s investment strategy.
• received a report on the labour market situation. Regarding research institutes, the parties to the state collective agreement will review the continuation of the agreement by 30 November 2026.
• was informed—specifically regarding research institutes—that the follow-up study on the agency structure, aimed at clarifying the roles of research organizations and assessing the need to reform their organizational structures, will be completed by the end of the year.
• discussed high-quality education and science-based growth with the Minister of Education.
