The collection of membership fees for university employees by the employer has been interrupted
The automatic collection of membership fees for members of the Finnish Union of University Professors working at universities has been suspended on 1 May 2025. The reason for the interruption is the industrial action decisions of university employers. Sivista has instructed its members, i.e. the universities acting as employers and their payroll administrations, to suspend the automatic collection of trade union membership fees from 1 May 2025. The automatic collection of membership fees by employers is suspended at universities for the time being.
Please note that the suspension of employer collection does not remove the obligation to pay the membership fee.
During May, the Finnish Union of University Professors will send instructions on how to pay the membership fee from 1 May 2025 onwards to those members who are affected by the suspension of the automatic collection of the membership fee.
If you have any questions regarding your membership fees, please contact the Office of the Finnish Union of University Professors: professoriliitto@professoriliitto.fi. You can also reach us by phone from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., tel. 09 4250 700.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the situation and will inform the members of any changes.
