- The Finnish Union of University Professors’ member insurance policies have been transferred to insurance company Turva as of 1 January 2024. The change does not cause a break in the member’s insurance coverage. If the member is on a trip that extends beyond the turn of the year, Turva’s insurance will cover travel illnesses, accidents that occurred, and damage to luggage that occurred after 0:00 on 1 January 2024. The new insurance package includes the non-occupational traveller’s, luggage, travel liability, and legal expenses travel insurance without maximum age limit. In these insurance policies, the accompanying spouse who lives in the same household as the member and the accompanying children and grandchildren under the age of 20 are also insured. In addition, members are insured by the non-occupational accident insurance until the end of the insurance period, during which the insured turns 80.
