Compensation recommendations of the Finnish Union of University Professors for academic expert judgements provided by professors

Universities pay separate supplements and fees based on the Collective agreement for universities according to their own decisions. Such fees include, for example, fees for the following academic expert statements.

The Finnish Union of University Professors recommends the following minimum fees:

• Assessment of qualifications for a professor’s position or a position on the professors’ tenure track: basic work for the first candidate at least EUR 1500 and EUR 500 per candidate.
• Assessment of qualifications for the title of docent: at least EUR 500.
• Acting as a pre-examiner for a doctoral dissertation: at least EUR 1000.
• Acting as an opponent: at least EUR 1000.
