Public event – Statements from the Scientific Core in Oulu on 15 January
The Finnish Union of University Professors will organise Communicatio Academica: Statements from the Scientific Core in Oulu on Thursday, 15 January 2026. The public event will be held from 2 to 3.30 p.m. at Cultural Centre Valve.
The event will feature professors’ speeches on geographical boundaries, reindeer husbandry and cybersecurity, and the Professor of the Year 2026 will also be announced. The event will be hosted by Journalist Petri Laukka, Ph.D. and is free of charge for participants.
After the event, there will be an opportunity to discuss the funding of research and education as well as other topical issues with Chair of the Union Teija Laitinen and Executive Director Tarja Niemelä.
