The Finnish Union of University Professors has issued Compensation recommendations for academic expert judgements provided by professors

The Finnish Union of University Professors encourages universities to adopt these recommendations and the Union members to ask for fees in accordance with the recommendations.

The Finnish Union of University Professors recommends the following minimum fees:

• Assessment of qualifications for a professor’s position or a position on the professors’ tenure track: basic work for the first candidate at least EUR 1500 and EUR 500 per candidate.
• Assessment of qualifications for the title of docent: at least EUR 500.
• Acting as a pre-examiner for a doctoral dissertation: at least EUR 1000.
• Acting as an opponent: at least EUR 1000.
